The Ninevah Journal of Nursing and Midwifery is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and expects all parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, peer reviewers, and publishers—to adhere to ethical guidelines and best practices, in alignment with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
- Duties of Authors
- Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is original and properly cite or quote any content derived from other sources. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable.
- Data Accuracy and Integrity: Authors should present accurate data and findings. Fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting of data is considered unethical.
- Multiple Submissions: Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously is strictly prohibited.
- Acknowledgment of Sources: Proper acknowledgment of all sources of support and contributions must be provided.
- Authorship Criteria: Only individuals who have made substantial contributions to the work should be listed as authors. All listed authors must approve the final manuscript.

- Fair Evaluation: Manuscripts are evaluated solely on academic merit, relevance, and originality, without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, or institutional affiliation.
- Confidentiality: Editors must maintain the confidentiality of all submissions and not disclose information about manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, or publisher.
- Handling Misconduct: Editors are responsible for investigating allegations of misconduct and taking appropriate action, including retractions or corrections when necessary.
- Duties of Reviewers
- Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat all information related to the manuscript as confidential and must not share it with others.
- Objectivity and Constructive Feedback: Reviews should be conducted objectively, with clear and constructive comments that help authors improve their work.
- Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and decline to review if impartiality is compromised.

- The journal will retract or correct published articles when significant errors or ethical violations are identified. Retractions will be clearly labeled and linked to the original article.
